Roy Vissers: Breaking Boundries For Creative Freedom

Om Swastiastu, my name is Roy Vissers and I am the co-owner of United Culture, a digital agency which I started with my good friend Rishi Ramdaras.

The company started from a creative block we both felt at our jobs and study. We wanted to create more than the boundries we got at our places and started with United Culture.

The company stems from our heritage, Rishi who is Indian and me who is (half) Balinese, we both have different ideas of home, but we have a lot of similarities. This is also what I want to create for the newer generation of creatives we see. Uniting street and hip-hop culture, with the raw and pure side of life.

My creative style is distinguished by an informal and spontaneous approach. I believe that true creativity emerges when you are not constrained by conventions or expectations. At United Culture, we choose projects based on what we think is cool and what excites us, regardless of who or what it is. This gives us the freedom to create unique and authentic content. My sources of inspiration are diverse, ranging from the raw and pure style of Veras Fawaz to the artistic expression of artists like A$AP Rocky, Tyler, the Creator, and the Dutch rapper Ares. These influences help me maintain a fresh and bold approach in everything we do.

While my Balinese heritage is a part of who I am, our work at United Culture is more broadly focused on traditions. We have a strong preference for leading projects that are rooted in traditional or cultural origins, rather than engaging in corporate nonsense. This approach allows us to create work that feels genuine and connected to real values, rather than something that’s just about profit or trend-following. We believe that tradition carries a rawness and authenticity that’s often missing in the corporate world, and that’s what we strive to bring to every project.

Our vision for the future of United Culture is deeply rooted in community. While we will continue to operate as a digital agency, our goal is to be recognized not just as a service, but as a cultural force. We aim to build a community around our brand, creating a space where creativity, collaboration, and shared values thrive. We want to be seen as a movement that influences and shapes the creative world, rather than just another agency providing digital services.
